Five Ginger Tea Recipe That will Boost your Imune System

There are many ways to make ginger tea that are easy and practical to make. This legendary traditional drink is still loved by many people. Besides having a fresh taste, ginger tea also has many health benefits. Ginger tea is a traditional ginger drink dish from Central and East Java. Generally, ginger tea is served warm or hot. Ginger Tea is also famous as Wedang Jahe for the locals and always consumed during rainy season to make the body feel warmer yet to boost the immune system.

1. Lemongrass Ginger Tea


  • 900ml water
  • 3 cm ginger
  • 4 tbsp palm sugar
  • 50 gr sugar
  • 3 cm cinnamon (1 tsp cinnamon powder)
  • 8 cloves
  • 10 lemongrass stalks, crushed

How to make:

  • Roast the ginger briefly on the stove along with the skin, then cleaned and crushed, so that it smells better.
  • Boil everything together.
  • strain the Lemongrass Ginger tea and enjoy.


2. Oolong Ginger Tea


  • Tea (tea bag or oolong tea)
  • Palm sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • Lime juice

How to make:

  • crush the ginger, the palm sugar and lime juice, set aside.
  • Boil water, add tea bags, stir.
  • Then enter the ingredients that have been crushed together. Stir until boiling.
  • Oolong Ginger Tea is ready to be served.

3. Pandan Ginger Tea


  • 3 large gingers (peeled, roasted, crushed)
  • 2 lemongrass (crushed)
  • 1 pandan leaf (bundled)
  • 1 cinnamon (small)
  • 4tbsp of palm sugar
  • 1.5 liter water

How to make:

  • Bring water to a boil, add ginger, lemongrass, pandan, cinnamon until the aroma of ginger comes out (for 10 minutes).
  • add in the Palm Sugar, stir until dissolved, let it boil for about 5 minutes, taste, when it is warm, spicy, ready to serve.

4. Lemon Ginger Tea


  • 2 large gingers, crushed
  • 2 lemongrass, crushed
  • Palm sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • Lemon slice
  • 5 cm cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 1.5 liters of water

How to make :

  • Bring the water to a boil. Add ginger, lemongrass, cinnamon, cloves. Boil 30 minutes.
  • Add in palm sugar. Stir wait 15 minutes.
  • Remove, pour into a glass, add lemon juice & lemon slices. Ready to enjoy.

5. Ultimate Ginger Tea


  • 1 Ginger
  • 1 Tumeric
  • 1 Lemongrass
  • Lemon juice
  • water
  • Palm Sugar or honey

How to make

  • Crush or sliced the ginger, turmeric and lemongrass
  • Add in the crushed ginger, turmeric and lemongrass to the sauce pan along with the water
  • Bring into a boil about 3-5 minutes
  • Remove from the stove, pour into the glass
  • Wait for the hot steam to dissipate, add the lemon juice and palm sugar, mix well and it’s ready to serve
